Medicine Ball Overhead Slam

This is an active exercise where you lift a heavy ball overhead and throw it down hard. It uses your whole body, especially your back, shoulders, and stomach muscles.

Medicine Ball Overhead Slam demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet as wide as your shoulders. Hold the ball with two hands above your head.
  2. 2Tighten your stomach muscles. Keep your back straight.
  3. 3Bend your knees a little. Throw the ball down hard onto the floor in front of you.
  4. 4Use your whole body, including your shoulders and stomach, to make the throw powerful.
  5. 5Catch the ball when it bounces up. Repeat the exercise.
