Weighted Squat

This exercise works the muscles in your legs and bottom. You hold a weight while doing a squat. The weight makes the exercise harder and helps you build strength.

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet as wide as your shoulders. Point your toes out a little bit.
  2. 2Hold a weight securely in front of your chest or rest it on your shoulders.
  3. 3Tighten your stomach muscles and keep your chest tall. Lower your bottom down and back, like you are sitting in a chair.
  4. 4Go down until your legs are flat like a table, or as low as feels comfortable.
  5. 5Push down with your heels to stand up straight. Squeeze your bottom muscles when you reach the top.
  6. 6Do this again for as many times as planned.
