Weighted Round Arm

This shoulder exercise uses dumbbells to make your upper body stronger. It works the muscles in your shoulders, upper back, and the back of your arms. You lift the weights up and out to the sides in a smooth, curved motion while leaning forward.

Weighted Round Arm demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand up with your feet apart as wide as your shoulders, holding a weight in each hand.
  2. 2Bend your knees a little bit and lean your upper body forward from your hips, keeping your back flat and straight.
  3. 3Keep your elbows slightly bent and lift your arms out to the sides.
  4. 4Keep lifting until your arms are straight out, level with the ground.
  5. 5Stop for a short second at the top, then slowly lower your arms back down.
  6. 6Do this again for as many times as you need.
