Smith Machine Decline Close Grip Bench Press

This is a strength exercise done on a machine. You lie on a bench that slopes down. You hold the bar with your hands close together. It mostly builds your arm muscles (triceps) and helps your chest and shoulders.

How to Perform

  1. 1Set the bench to a downward slope.
  2. 2Lie on your back with your feet flat on the floor.
  3. 3Hold the bar with your hands closer than your shoulders.
  4. 4Unlock the bar and lower it slowly to your chest, keeping your elbows near your sides.
  5. 5Stop for a second when the bar is just above your chest.
  6. 6Push the bar back up until your arms are straight.
  7. 7Do this again for the number of times you want.
