This exercise strengthens your lower legs, specifically the calves, ankles, and feet. You hold a dumbbell in one hand while balancing on one leg and lifting your heel. This movement improves your balance and builds leg strength.

Single Leg Calf Raise (on A Dumbbell) demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand up straight with your feet slightly apart and hold a weight in one hand.
  2. 2Lift one foot off the floor so you are balancing on the other leg.
  3. 3Push your heel up as high as you can using your calf muscle.
  4. 4Hold the top position for a second, then slowly lower your heel back to the ground.
  5. 5Do this for the required number of times, then switch to the other leg.
