Pull-up

The pull-up uses your body weight to work the big muscles in your back. It also uses your arm muscles. Because it takes a lot of upper body strength and control, it is a hard exercise for many people to do.

How to Perform

  1. 1Hold onto a pull-up bar with your hands facing away from you and your arms straight.
  2. 2Tighten your stomach muscles and squeeze your shoulder blades together.
  3. 3Bend your elbows to pull your body up until your chest is close to the bar.
  4. 4Stop for a moment at the top, then slowly lower yourself back down until your arms are straight.
  5. 5Do this again for as many times as you want.
