Mixed Grip Chin-up

This bodyweight exercise works your back, biceps, and forearms. You pull yourself up to the bar using a mixed grip. This helps improve your gripping strength and upper body power.

Mixed Grip Chin-up demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Hold the bar with your palms facing you. Keep your hands a little wider than your shoulders.
  2. 2Hang down with your arms straight and your feet off the floor.
  3. 3Tighten your back muscles and pull your chest up toward the bar.
  4. 4Keep pulling until your chin is higher than the bar.
  5. 5Wait for a second at the top.
  6. 6Slowly lower your body back down to where you started.
  7. 7Repeat this for as many times as needed.
