Serratus anterior

Incline Scapula Push Up

This is a bodyweight exercise done on a slanted bench. It works a side chest muscle called the serratus anterior, as well as your arms and shoulders. The main goal is to move your shoulder blades back and forth to make your shoulders steady and strong.

How to Perform

  1. 1Set a bench so it tilts up at a 45-degree angle.
  2. 2Put your hands on the bench a little wider than your shoulders.
  3. 3Stand with your feet flat on the floor, as wide as your hips.
  4. 4Lower your chest toward the bench while keeping your elbows close to your sides.
  5. 5As you go down, pinch your shoulder blades together behind you.
  6. 6Push against the bench with your hands to straighten your arms and go back to the start.
  7. 7Do this again for as many times as you need.
