Dumbbell One Arm Shoulder Press V. 2

This exercise uses a dumbbell in one hand to push weight up above your head. It strengthens your shoulder muscles. It also uses your arm muscles and back muscles to keep you steady. Because you only use one arm at a time, your tummy muscles have to work hard to keep you standing straight.

Dumbbell One Arm Shoulder Press V. 2 demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet as wide as your shoulders. Hold a dumbbell in one hand at the height of your shoulder. Face your palm forward.
  2. 2Tighten your tummy muscles. Push the dumbbell straight up until your arm is completely straight.
  3. 3Stop for a short moment at the top. Then, slowly bring the dumbbell back down to your shoulder.
  4. 4Do this as many times as you need to. Then, change hands and do it with the other arm.
