This exercise works your shoulder muscles while you sit on a slanted bench. It also helps strengthen your upper back and the back of your arms. The movement involves pushing weights from your shoulders up over your head while keeping your body steady.

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on a slanted bench with a weight in each hand resting on your legs.
  2. 2Lean back and bring the weights up to your shoulders so your palms face forward.
  3. 3Keep your back flat against the bench. Breathe out and push the weights up over your head until your arms are straight.
  4. 4Stop for a second at the top. Then, breathe in and slowly lower the weights back down to your shoulders.
  5. 5Do this again for as many times as you want.
