Cable Seated One Arm Alternate Row

This is an exercise for your upper back using a cable machine. You sit down and pull a handle toward your body using one hand at a time. Move slowly and focus on squeezing your shoulder blade back.

Cable Seated One Arm Alternate Row demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Sit on the bench while looking at the machine. Keep your feet flat on the floor and bend your knees a little bit.
  2. 2Hold the handle with one hand. Reach your arm all the way out in front of you.
  3. 3Pull the handle toward your body. Squeeze your shoulder blade back and keep your elbow close to your ribs.
  4. 4Stop for a second when the handle is close to you and squeeze your back muscles tight.
  5. 5Slowly let the handle go back until your arm is straight again.
  6. 6Do the same movement with your other arm.
  7. 7Switch back and forth between your arms until you finish your set.
