Cable Drag Curl

This exercise is for your arm muscles, specifically the biceps. You use a cable machine to do it. Instead of lifting the weight out in front of you, you drag the handle up along your body while keeping your elbows back. This helps make sure your shoulders do not do the work.

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand in front of a cable machine with your feet apart, about as wide as your shoulders.
  2. 2Hold the handle with your palms facing up and your arms straight down.
  3. 3Keep your upper arms still and pull the handle straight up along your body.
  4. 4As you pull up, move your elbows backward behind you.
  5. 5Stop for a second at the top and squeeze your arm muscles.
  6. 6Breathe in and slowly lower the handle back down until your arms are straight again.
