Cable Alternate Triceps Extension

This exercise uses a cable machine to work the triceps muscles on the back of your arms. You straighten one arm at a time while keeping your upper arm completely still, switching back and forth between your right and left sides.

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand in front of the machine with your feet as wide as your shoulders.
  2. 2Hold the handle with your right hand. Lift your arm until your upper arm is flat like a shelf and your elbow is bent like the corner of a square.
  3. 3Keep your upper arm frozen in place and push your hand back until your arm is totally straight.
  4. 4Stop for a second, then slowly bring your arm back to where it started.
  5. 5Do the exact same steps with your left arm.
  6. 6Keep switching between your right and left arms for as many turns as you need.
