Behind Head Chest Stretch

This flexibility exercise helps loosen tight chest muscles. You do it by standing up straight, putting your hands together behind your head, and gently pulling your shoulder blades toward each other to open up your chest.

Behind Head Chest Stretch demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand up straight with your feet apart, about as wide as your shoulders.
  2. 2Clasp your fingers together behind your head so your elbows point out to the sides.
  3. 3Gently pull your shoulder blades together while pushing your chest forward.
  4. 4Stay in this position for 15 to 30 seconds.
  5. 5Let go of the stretch and do it again if you like.
