Barbell Step-up

This is a leg exercise for your butt and thighs. You hold a heavy bar on your back and step up onto a box or bench.

Barbell Step-up demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand facing a bench with the bar resting on your upper back.
  2. 2Put one foot on the bench and make sure your whole foot is flat on it.
  3. 3Push down with your heel to lift your body up until your leg is straight.
  4. 4Stop for a moment at the top, then slowly lower yourself back to the floor.
  5. 5Do the same steps with your other leg.
  6. 6Keep switching legs until you are finished.
