Barbell Standing Wide-grip Curl

This exercise uses a barbell to build strong arm muscles. You hold the bar with your hands placed far apart. This helps work the inner part of your biceps, as well as your forearms and shoulders.

Barbell Standing Wide-grip Curl demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand tall with your feet as wide as your shoulders.
  2. 2Hold the barbell with your palms facing forward and your hands wider than your shoulders.
  3. 3Let your arms hang down so the bar rests in front of your legs.
  4. 4Keep your upper arms stuck to your sides.
  5. 5Breathe out and lift the bar up by bending your elbows.
  6. 6Keep lifting until the bar reaches your shoulder height.
  7. 7Squeeze your arm muscles tight at the top for a moment.
  8. 8Breathe in and slowly lower the bar back down to where you started.
  9. 9Repeat these steps for the right number of times.
