Barbell Press Sit-up

This is a hard exercise for your tummy. It mixes a regular sit-up with pushing a bar. It works your abs, shoulders, and chest. You need to be strong and good at balancing to push the bar safely while you sit up.

How to Perform

  1. 1Lie on your back on a mat. Bend your knees and keep your feet flat on the floor.
  2. 2Hold the bar with your hands over the top. Let it rest on your chest.
  3. 3Tighten your tummy muscles. Slowly lift your upper body up and forward until you are halfway up.
  4. 4Stop for a second at the top. Then, slowly lower yourself back down to the starting spot.
  5. 5Do this as many times as you need to.
