Band Side Triceps Extension

This exercise uses a resistance band to strengthen the triceps, which are the muscles on the back of your arms. It also works your shoulders a little bit. To do it, you hold your arms out wide to the sides, bend your elbows to bring your hands in toward your shoulders, and then push your arms back out straight.

Band Side Triceps Extension demonstration

How to Perform

  1. 1Stand with your feet apart comfortably. Hold the band in both hands with your palms facing the floor.
  2. 2Stretch your arms straight out to your sides so they are level with the ground.
  3. 3Keep your upper arms frozen in place. Slowly bend your elbows to bring your hands close to your shoulders.
  4. 4Wait for a second, then slowly straighten your arms back out to the wide starting position.
  5. 5Do this movement as many times as you need to.
